Grandma Sue's Pies & More

We make 'em - You bake 'em!

About Us

Grandma Sue's came about after many public requests. Our pies were known in Huntington from a 4-H fair food tent, fish fries and were known in Roanoke from the farmers market, the Taste of Roanoke, the Fall Festival and some fish fries. We decided to satisfy requests by making a retail business to sell frozen pies and we opened our doors on March 10th, 2010.

From Sue

"My husband's mom would let him help make pies with the good ole Jiffy box mix. He thought those pies were great until he met a good old country girl that had a mom, that was one of 12, and had to help her mom make goodies quite a bit. Now that was real hometown, homemade cooking. Needless to say I was never able to stop baking once I got married. Both of our parents had taught us how to bake and utilize the excellent fruits that God provides."

We have been blessed with wonderful friends and a community that are very supportive and have given much encouragement for us to continue on. Two businesses in Roanoke were gracious enough to let us use their facilities to get started and we thank them very much for that. Our shop was originally located across the street at 212 N Main but we eventually outgrew the building and we are now located at 287 N Main in the Gray Dove building with both our kitchen and storefront located there.

Our product is truly home style made from scratch with the pie dough being hand rolled and hand crimped making no two pies alike. We use quality fruits to enhance the flavor. Our motto is "We make 'em - You bake 'em!"
